Lucinda's Bed
-
Chicago Dramatists presents 'Lucinda's Bed,' a twisted comedy
by Resident Playwright Mia McCullough. Lucinda suffers from a chronic case of good-girl-itis. The monster under her bed, unfortunately, does not. As Lucinda tries to be good, the monster under her bed does everything he can, showing up at the most awkward and inopportune moments with perfect timing and panache, to make sure she is not. And, in a world where you’re constantly meeting your monster face to face, it’s hard to know who to trust. Can Lucinda successfully flirt the line between good and bad? Or will she make her bed and be forced to lie in it? In this twisted comedy, Mia McCullough takes us to the many beds of Lucinda’s life. From twin to full to queen, McCullough explores the need to be good and the temptation not to be, navigating growing up, growing old and the monsters that grow with us.
At Chicago Dramatists – The Playwrights' Theatre, Chicago, IL
Sat 11/7 at 8pm.

Rhymes With Evil
-
InFusion Theatre Company presents 'Rhymes With Evil,' written by Charles Traeger and directed by Mitch Golob. For this Midwest premiere, InFusion Theatre Company brings creepy puppets and visual spectacle to a very human tale of an imaginative and inventive stay-at-home dad. In his Midwest farm house, he creates a beautiful yet bizarre world of puppets, costumed characters and fanciful stories for his young daughter. But all is not what it seems in this suspense-filled and disturbing tale of love, loss and danger appropriate for the Halloween season.
At DCA: Storefront Theatre, Chicago, IL
Sat 11/7 at 7:30pm.
