Linger over beautiful seashells found on North Carolina's beaches and exotic shells from faraway beaches. Check out perfectly formed, tiny shells through our microscope. Learn about the challenges faced and conquered by marine researchers and see displays on biotechnology, commercial fishing, coastal erosion and more. Then stop by The Schiele "pier," play in a box filled with beach sand and surprises, examine shells and marine animals and see the spectacular, venomous lion fish, delicate seahorses and more. This is what the Ocean is like at the Schiele Museum.
